  • Bloggers in the Field Sihoki

Sihoki Slot very own “Tuscaloosa Johnny” Kampis entered Day 2A of play with over 40K in chips– well above the field’s starting average of around 25K. I just caught up with Johnny at Table 143 and he’s now sitting on about 54K after his pocket kings held up against A-K. Keep it up, Johnny!

Ryan of Absinthetics also started play with around 40K today, but has slipped to 32K.

    “Bad beat?” I asked him.

“70-30” he shrugged, as he turned back to his chips.

Ryan comes into this WSOP after an incredibly successful first half of the year. He made five cashes at the L.A. Poker Classic and another cash at Commerce’s Heavenly Hold’em tournament. Ryan is not only the best tournament player I know, he’s a damn fine writer to boot. He’s also updating his blog on breaks from his Sidekick– how insane is that? Check it out for yourself.

    UPDATES:

2:35 PM- Johnny just stopped by the media room on break to grab a snack and let us know that he’s up to 71.5K!

4:10 PM- Ryan has about 53K after dropping the hammer.

4:55 PM- Ryan text messaged “I am so stupid at poker” to the media room and we all feared for the worst. At least four bloggers took off for the floor to see what happened. Not to worry, our man is still in it with 30,000 chips. He tried checkraising the river with A-K on a 5-7-9-9-T board with three diamonds (representing that the river made his straight or flush) after his opponent checked the flop, checked the turn, and bet the river. The guy called and showed Q-Q.

5:20 PM – Johnny has 114K after hitting quad tens and being gifted with his opponent’s entire stack.

8:45 PM – Coming back from the dinner break, Johnny has 97.5K and Ryan has 30K.

10:27 PM – Card Player finally picked up Ryan’s chip count and lists him at 50K. I’m off to the floor to find out how accurate that is…

10:32 PM – Ryan’s stack is more in the 35K range. He and Johnny are now seated together at Table 143. Only one more hour of play to go…

    1C + 1D = 2B

All four fights from Day One are in and we have all of our semi-accurate preliminary, almost complete numbers for you.

First–the official total of entrants in the 2006 Main Event is 8,773 or 8,774 or 8,778.

Remeber the system for combing four Day Ones into two Day Twos. 1A+1B=2A and 1C+1D=2B. After the play today (2A) and tomorrow (2B) there will be a day off on Thursday and then beginning Friday we will have just one field in one room for the final seven days.

Day 1C (Sunday drew 2,160 players with 821 moving on to Day 2B on Wednesday August 2nd.

Day 1D (Monday) saw the biggest field of the four “first” days with 2,298 getting the cards in the air and as expected there were more survivors from this group but the number is surprisingly high at 915.

This means Day 2B (Wednesday) will start with 1736 players, while Day 2A (today is Tuesday) will have only 1598 or 1637 players. In theory, both days will play down to approximately 700 players, however it works out, they will both play exactly the same number of levels, probably six (levels 7 thru 12 on your structure sheets.)

  • A SECOND “HISTORICALLY-BASED” SYSYTEM

This “historically-based” system of picking numbers is gaining increasing popularity in the United States. It cannot guarantee a profit, however, and there is no mathematical basis for any claim that it increases your chance of winning. It is presented merely as a curiosity.

To use this system, take three to five decks of cards or sets of slips of paper. They will represent the numbers which could be drawn in a given lottery. Some lotteries have 54 numbers, so in order to do judi dadu online this properly you should have jokers in the deck. The slips of paper should be as close to the same size as possible for the best random selection. If your lottery does have 54 numbers, use the whole deck with jokers. If it has 53, remove one joker; both for 52; the king of diamonds for 51; the queen of diamonds for 50; and so on until you have the same number of cards in each deck as there are numbers to be drawn from.

Next, assign number to your cards and slips of paper. Write numbers corresponding to numbers to be drawn on three to five sets of slips of paper, or chart each card left in the deck with a number. Write the cart on a separate sheet of paper this way: Ace of spades equals 2, deuce equals 3, up to king of spades which equals 13. The ace of clubs then equals 14, up to the king of clubs which is 26. The ace of hearts equals 27 up to the king which equals 39, and so on through the diamonds. The jokers, if necessary, will equals 53 and 54.

Find out the numbers drawn in the last five to twenty draws and keep them handy. Then remove slips of paper or playing cards corresponding to the numbers drawn. The number already drawn are not important; we want what’s left after they have been removed. When you find a number that’s been drawn twice in recent draws, take the corresponding card out of the second deck of cards or set of slips. Keep removing numbers until you run across one that you have already removed from the other decks. You should have a relatively small number of cards left which will represent the numbers you will select from when you purchase your tickets.

Eventually you will have to go back to the oldest draw from which you removed cards or slips and place those numbers back in the pile in order to have a good selection.

What your are doing here is removing numbers which have been drawn in the past on the assumption that those numbers have less chance of being drawn in the future. In actual fact, you’re not gaining a thing. The lottery corporation returns all numbers drawn into the bin or barrel so they can be drawn from on the next draw. In doing so they make sure that every number has an equal chance of being drawn in any given draw. Some may claim that since some balls drop more often than others, the opposite happens. Frequently drawn number, they say, stand a better chance of being drawn in the future, which is again not true. The balls used in most lotteries are made to extremely close tolerances, and lottery gear is very expensive as a result. The firms who make this equipment take extreme care to make sure that just such a thing cannot and will not happen.

While it may be fun to experiment with numbers and formulas, they really can’t be made to work. “Elimination-based” systems may be fun to play with, but they do nothing to increase your odds.

  • THE REASONS WHY WE LOVE FESTIVAL FASHION

Festivals are the ideal place to express the deep corners of your creative soul. From flamboyant and feathery creatures to pixie fairies and pirates there are literally hundreds of ways you can portray a favourite character as you relax and celebrate. The first thing to get your feet wet with is to do some research what the primary topic is of the festival you are attending so that you can properly prepare the most fitting costume. Then make a list of fitting character options that would have practical costumes while going along with your personal preference and style as well. Take your time with the process of pulling your outfit together as every detail will play a part in the character you hope to share with the world.

There are three major aspects to consider when you are deciding how to dress for a festival. The weather, the length of the festival, and the theme are the main components that need to be weighed before committing to specific attire. Typically some amount of travel tends to be involved with a festival experience. It is usually much easier to travel light, so every detailed choice about accessories and costumes becomes vital for packing space. Festivals are a time for relaxing and enjoying yourself so this may include making good use of the beautiful Mardi-Gras mask that has been sitting on your shelf for the past year, but it is important to be sure you are segregating want from need. It would be terrible to arrive at the festival and be missing an essential component or to bring items that you do not even use the entire time.

    Be prepared for all conditions

Most festivals take place outdoors like the ever so muddy splendour in the grass. This holds a lot of uncertainty as weather is not precise in its predictabilities. Look for the weather patterns ahead of time to have a basic understanding of how hot or cold it will be. If it is expected to be cold throughout the festivities pack layers. If you are dressing in a special costume layers can be a bit tricky. Before you leave to the festival try on different warming techniques such as thin, neutral coloured t-shirts or tank tops or find ways of attaching heating pads inside the hems or pockets of your outfit. For warmer weather protecting your skin from the sun is the highest priority of concern. Choose material for your costume that is breathable to avoid heat stroke. To block your skin from the sun add a cape, scarf, or umbrella to your get-up and you will add a little extra flare and keep yourself safe from sunburn at the same time. If your costume consists of material that is not very breathable avoid wearing it for long periods at a time. Either take a break and change your costume every so often or choose a different look to go with. When it comes to what you should wear always go with what is most beneficial to your health.

A festival outfit for each day?

The length of festivals varies drastically. You could be there for one day or it may even be as long as two weeks. This poses a challenge in regards to carefully packing precise costumes, props, and make-up that would help create the most enjoyable experience during this festival. An important concept to keep in mind is that it is definitely not a crime to wear the same costume twice in orders to save a lot of space in your luggage. If this does not work for you then seek out pieces of clothing that can mix and match to create a different look every day. Play around with how different combinations of jewellery, scarves, or other accessories look with your costume to be able to switch it up every so often. These items are smaller and are more easily transported so it is a more practical solution to costume variety. This is the best method if the festival you are attending is only one day long and you wish to portray multiple characters. The creative effort you invest into your costume will only enhance the magic of your portrayal.

Plan it and wear it with conviction!

The decisions that will help set the tone of your entire experience are the choices of what to wear. Seemingly a simple question, the clothing and costumes you bring to a festival have the potential to hold you back from an uninterrupted experience due to a defect in the costume, or it may become the focal point of inspiration for a creative story you invent with your friends. Festivals are a time to draw out creativity, inspire, and motivate imagination. If your clothing messes with the flow of wonder and amazement then it is worth it to search for more suitable attire. Be sure it fits well, check for ways it may need to be fixed, and be sure you will want to wear it for a few hours at a time. If you feel like breaking rules, festival outfits are probably the few times you can get away with the fashion no-nos of everyday society! A fun and inclusive way of indulging your creative expression through costumes is to collaborate with a group of friends. If you either choose a group of characters that already exist or in making up your own set of characters and story line you are enhancing the memorability and intimacy of the grand adventure at hand.

There is nothing quite like a fulfilling festival. The way you prepare will build the foundation of this potentially magical experience. It is best to remember not to over pack so you won’t be weighed down by unnecessary clutter. The fewer things you have to be responsible the more free you will be to focus on what really matters. Once you are completely pulled together and ready for enjoying the festival all you will need to do is release the creative bug inside you and party your heart out! So, find your feathers, bring your glitter, and pack your imagination to make this an unforgettable festival filled with magic and wonder.

  • More rtp online Radio

LAKE TAHOE, NV–While Gonz is skilled at doing real radio, I seem to get the fill-in spots on internet Skypecasts. Tune in to rtp online Radio in a few minutes, and I’ll be sharing “ rtp online Bedtime Stories” with Angie And Sharron on Naughty Poker Angels.

New Rule Rant #4: Player’s Advisory Committees

New Rule: Player’s Advisory Committees should be allowed to, at least, advise.

I know we pick on the WSOP a lot but when you are the big gorilla in the forest, you gotta expect that. The 2006 WSOP had a player’s advisory committee and I heard at least two members of that group say to player’s asking them for help:

“Don’t ask us, we have no power whatsoever.”

What poker does not need right now is window-dressing or corporate double-speak. Doing this “Poker is Becoming a Major Sport” thing right means a better game for everyone. Everyone means more and more players and therefore more and more customers for the big card rooms and big tournaments.

New Rule: There should be a player advisory committee for each tour.

…and I would include a dealer and a floor person on that committee.

    WSOP Circuit Final Table

LAKE TAHOE, NV–There was an amazing chip-and-a-chair story brewing … Randy Rodgers from Reno got it all-in with pocket 10s vs. pocket kings, and the favorite held up. He began walking away from the table but was called back … he still had a single 500 chip. (Blinds were like 1k/2k with a 300 ante.) He was all-in again on the next hand with K-Q and flopped trip queens, but his pothead opponent had flopped a boat. Ultra-bearded dude was plenty congratulatory when the fourth queen came on the river and Rodgers septupled up.

A few rounds later he had rebuilt his stack to nearly 50,000 — and the crowd suddenly had a favorite. Alas, he made it to the faux final table (they reseated when down to 10) but busted out in shortly thereafter. Still … a nice example of a single 500 chip being worth more than $2,400 in increased payout.

So with Rodgers gone, here’s the final table for tomorrow, where the payouts range from $12k to $196k:

LAKE TAHOE, NV–Food and wine with a view is what the 19 Kitchen offers. Located on the 19th floor of Harveys, this restaurant definitely gives you a true dining experience. Creatively divided up into three sections, the menu offers small plates like tapas, sushi and oysters, and for a heartier appetite there are mini-Kobe beef burgers, filet mignon, lobster or other seafood options.

19rest.jpgIf you are willing to splurge a little, then don’t waste time getting to the elevator. 19 has an extensive wine list, and the wait staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to pairing. I highly recommend the sea bass, which is served on a bed of risotto and grilled shrimp, but if you are a Kobe beef lover, then the little burger trio is a must. Served together on a plate as three tiny burgers, they might look dainty, but they are definitely a meal. No matter what your culinary delight might be, this is a meal to be enjoyed.

  • How Steve Irion REALLY Learned to Play rtp online

LAKE TAHOE, NV–Fishy Steve Irion begins today with 25,900 chips as he fights his way toward the bubble at the rtp online Lake Tahoe main event. (Eighteen players will get paid.) Last night Steve had a lot of big stories about big games in his Sacramento basement where he developed his skills, but his wife, Christine, sent me this photo of Steve (left) and Foxy (right), which tells a different story about where this contender really cut his teeth.

    WSOP Circuit Update: Post-Bubble

LAKE TAHOE, NV–Our favorite total random has been eliminated. Steve Irion and his grandpa’s fish eggs moved in with 3-3 and got called by two overcards. He lost the race and busted out in 18th place: $7,259.

    Nice job, Steve-o.

Of the remaining players, two three four of them are WSOP bracelet winners … Scott Clements and Paul Kobel (below). Kobel, by the way, gets our pothead-of-the-day props, for obvious reasons:

    Radio Head

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ–Tonight, PokerBlog gets into the Philadelphia sports radio racket. At 7:30 ET on SportsTalk 950 AM, I’ll be a guest on “The Poker Show with Chuck Darrow.”

Why Do You Redraw for Seats at Three Tables?

LAKE TAHOE, NV–I just asked none other than Dr. Tim’s lover favorite assistant tournament director to clarify something that we have had much debate about here. In this particular WSOP Circuit main event, they redrew for seats at three tables. Why not two, once they are into the money, I inquired.

“We do it at three tables, then two, then one,” he explained.

    Um, OK, but why?

“You mean other than because that’s how [legendary WSOP tourney director] Jack McClelland taught me to do it?”

    The New Jennifer Tilly?

It’s true … Vanessa Rousso is officially a bad-asslette. She did indeed win the $5k Borgata event — a $285k payday. The biggish-name pros she outlasted at the final table include Joe Sebok and Hasan Habib.

    The Cooler

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ–We’re down below 140 players. Joe Brooks isn’t one of them. The local pro from Egg Harbor, who won the $2,500 NL event here at the Borgata, got bounced a little while ago. But he wasn’t felled by cards.

In today’s Press of Atlantic City, there was a story about Brooks, two other local pros (Matt Stout and Matt Glantz), and Cyndy Violette. All four players were alive this morning. All four players are gone this afternoon.

“As soon as I saw the article, I knew we were screwed,” Joe Brooks says. “I’m going to that woman’s house.”

The story was written by Elaine Rose. I don’t think she’s loved.

“She’s the kiss of death,” Stout says.

I wonder if they’ll put her in the bathroom like Eddie Mush.

  • DOYLISM OF THE DAY: “If you are flexible, it’s hard to get bent out of shape.”

Congratulations to David Chiu for winning the keluaran hk Championship. I made a bet on David when the final table began because I have played some poker tournaments with David. He is one of the premier players in the game and also one of the nicest guys. Thanks David!

Finally, we have some time off. I plan on going to the Flathead Lake in Montana and relaxing for a couple of weeks. It seems like I haven’t had a vacation since David Benyamine wore a size medium. I may drive, even if it is a long way, because I have to get my dogs up there.

I just watched the NBC Heads Up Championship. togel hongkong It’s a good tournament, but like most tournaments, it moves just too fast and it becomes a crap shoot. I really liked the DoylesRoom commercials.

DOYLISM OF THE DAY: “When you retire there is only one great event left in your life and I’m not ready for that yet!”

I visited 2+2 again and read some of the posts in the gossip section. There is a lot of good stuff but it is very time consuming so I won’t be a regular reader. I couldn’t help but notice the speculation about me and how long I am expected to live. It seems 85 was the under-over betting range. I’m willing to bet a lot of money I live longer than that if anybody really wants to bet on it. On second thought, I better not bet too much or my opponent might send Tony Soprano after me 🙂

The Western Channel on DSS is doing a twenty-four hour ‘Maverick celebration’ based on the TV series about the life and times of a poker playing family with the last name Maverick. The main characters were James Garner as Bret Maverick, Jack Kelley as Bart Maverick, and Roger Moore as Beau Maverick. This series was parallel with my own poker playing as it started in 1956 – my first year as a Pro. It was the first production that showed poker as a respectable profession because most folks looked at professional poker players as second class citizens. I did a lengthy interview about my remembrances of Maverick and the Starz Network is going to use it in promos and between episodes. They also interviewed Hoyt Corkins, Dewey Tomko, Todd Brunson, and Mike Caro along with a few others. I loved watching Maverick and I had no trouble talking about it.

I went to the golf course today and I tried to hit a few practice balls. After hitting thirty shots I had to quit because I was already getting sore. My golf career may be over unless I get my leg fixed soon. Mike Sexton and Dewey Tomko were there but I couldn’t make any games because I’m so bad.

It’s time for the WSOP and I can’t wait to see the changes they made in the tournament. I read Daniel’s blog and it sounds like the changes they have made are really good. For someone who says he is a vegan, Daniel was talking about some pretty unhealthy food that is at the WSOP. Pizza, Krispy Kreme, and candy close to the playing area sound tempting.

There are still no games in Bobby’s Room at the Bellagio. Internet poker has ruined the high limit games. The only time these players leave the internet is when someone they perceive to be a fish shows up. Then there is a mad dash to get a seat. I feel there should be a new set of rules that favors the everyday players over the internet players.

  • Another Million Dollar Party Situs Judi Online Event

Another $1,000,000 Guarantee Event is underway this weekend at Party Situs Judi Online. As the countdown to this Saturday’s $1 million guaranteed tournament continues, Party announced that 200 SEATS are up for grabs on Friday. In addition, seats will be available EVERY HOUR on Saturday morning in the build up to the main event.

The tournament takes place on Saturday 31st May at 12.45pm ET (5.45pm BST, 6.45pm CET), with a championship style blind structure. There are still many ways to qualify for the tournament on a daily basis, starting from as little as $1, with other options such as freerolls.

The $1 million guaranteed is the finale to ‘May Madness.’ Throughout the month of May, PartySitus Judi Online.com guaranteed the prize pool of EVERY TOURNAMENT run on the site meaning a staggering $12 million was up for grabs! Saturday’s tournament brings the promotion to a close. Blind levels for the $1 million guaranteed start at 25/50, with the starting chips 20,000 and blind levels every 20 minutes.

World Series of Situs Judi Online: First Look

Well it seems that the returning players, professional and amateur, are very happy with the 2008 version of the Amazon Room at the Rio Hotel and Casino. There is a lot more room between the tables and there are two side rooms, one to serve as a satellite venue and the other for overflow tables for any event.

Remember one priority at the WSOP is to get the scheduled events started on time; all the events, all the time. Today that was Event #1: $10,000 Pot Limit Hold’em, but as we move on through the seven weeks of the Series, we will have days of two tournament starts and two second day restarts and a couple of final tables. Those days can get very busy and empty tables can be at a premium. Add to this the cash games, Super and Mega-Satellites and everyone can be thankful there are more tables in more rooms for the 2008 World Series of Situs Judi Online.

The first real test will come tomorrow when Event #2: $1,500 No Limit Hold’em goes off but the WSOP staff has anticipated the huge field that last year was still registering as the first level ended. No alternates at the Series this year, so Event #2 will have two Day Ones on Saturday and Sunday. Already over 1100 players are signed up for Saturday. Event #2 will in all likelihood be the biggest non-Main Event field ever at the WSOP, but it appears the WSOP staff is ready.

All-in-all a good first day for the Series; evidence of some good planning and preparation since last summer.

  • Saturday Night in Tunica: Flashback

TUNICA RESORTS, MS–Everything has been sublime here in Tunica. But the other night I had a flashback to a Saturday night at the Gold Strike back in January. So I dug through my files and found what I had written that night.

    One woman yells, “Machine gun!”

    Another woman yells “run!”

Seconds before this, I am walking toward the lobby of the Gold Strike from the casino floor, when there is an ungodly noise. It is thunderous. I can’t see a lot of the lobby as the machine placement only lets me see the opening. Glass is falling like rain throughout the lobby. People are screaming. We are frozen.

One woman yells “Machine Gun.” From a distance someone screams, “He’s coming this way.” And another woman yells “run.” We run. I’m surprised to see that I am holding onto the woman next to me as we run to the back of the casino. She is also holding onto me. The pit crews are in lockdown mode. Cages and carts are shut and locked.

We look over our shoulders like we are trying to outpace an encroaching tsunami. But the tsunami isn’t coming. We slow. We stop. Our hearts are racing. And then some yells “car.” Car?

    Another Saturday Night in Tunica

TUNICA RESORTS, MS–Well it’s wasn’t quite as “crashing” a Saturday night as Amy had here last January, but last night I got a glimpse of the five QQWIN99 rooms in the greater Tunica area. Tunica can fill up fast on a weekend, particularly when Tennessee plays Memphis just up the road. Some of the rooms last night were just a sea of orange, except for that big Georgia Tech contingent and some lost Ohio State fans.

But back to the five Tunica QQWIN99 rooms:

    1) Hollywood

    2) Horseshoe

    3) Grand

    4) Gold Strike

    5) Samstown

Just a quick take on each. You could play two tournaments yesterday at any of these rooms (also two on Friday and one or two today). The Hollywood is a small 6 table room, which is non-smoking but the Hollywood is the most smoke filled casino I have been in for many years and it filters into the QQWIN99 room. They do, however, employ one of my favorite dealers; nice to see you Arlene.

The Horseshoe was hopping and packed, I like the new room put in last year but the atmosphere there has become very “homey” which makes some weekend visitors feel like the new kid on the block. The Gold Stike next door is a great room and has a Sunday tournament (where I will be in about two hours) with a great structure.

The Grand is running the WSOP circuit right now, so with 63 tables set up, its a typical high energy room this week. They still plan to build a new room at the other end of the second floor but not until after the next WSOP Circuit visit here in January.

Samstown continues to be a great low-limit room with $3/$6 running nearly all the time and many low buy-in tournaments every day. Samstown has also liberalized their player comp policy again.
